Burial Urns

There are so many cremation urns available on the internet now, that you could be looking forever for burial urns for ashes. This is probably not a time in your life or the type of item that you feel like shopping endlessly for.

The term burial urns for ashes could technically cover the entire spectrum of urns for ashes. Anything can be buried.

However, I found a website that has a separate category for burial urns which makes it much easier find exactly what you are looking for.

Burial urns for ashes appear to be separated into two subcategories. Urns that will biodegrade in the earth in a short period of time or urns that will last the test of time and stay intact.

You are shopping for a burial urn because you already have an idea where you want to place the ashes. Deciding which type of burial urns for ashes to choose is a personal decision and may depend on what location you choose to inter them. One example is your cemetery may have regulations that state a permanent burial urn is necessary. Another may be that you are placing the ashes next to someone who had a traditional burial and you prefer to have an urn that won't break down in the elements alongside other loved ones.

Pricing cremation urns, as with anything else can vary but when buying a burial urn for ashes; you don't have to spend a lot of money. This category of urns seems to be priced reasonably. I guess since they meant to be buried and not displayed, they are simpler in design and more cost effective. Don't get me wrong, they are still very nice and come in many styles and colors, they are usually not quite as elaborate as hand carved or bronze sculpted urns can be.

The biodegradable urns are made from varied materials that will all disintegrate over time. Some in a matter of weeks, some over a period of months. There are burial urns for ashes made from paper, palm leaves, clay and even a pine needle urn that is a basket that holds the ashes. If you are looking for something unique for burying, you will not be disappointed.

Urns for Two

Cremation has become more main stream in America, especially in the last 5 years. Many reasons are attributed to this such as, the cost of traditional funerals and we tend not to stay in the same area we are born in. Families therefore don't visit cemeteries as much as they used to be making a cemetery burial and purchase of a gravestone less and less important to people anymore.
But what if you still like the idea of your life partner’s, spouses or parents’ remains being interred for eternity. Since there won't be a cemetery burial how can our ashes stay together? With urns for two.

There are two types of these companion urns. The first has one large chamber in which the ashes of two people are combined for eternity.
The second type of urn for two has two matching sides that usually mirror each other. When one loved one has passed, the individual ashes are placed in their receptacle and permanently sealed. When the companion has passed his/her ashes are placed in the adjoining urn and then permanently sealed. Once the ashes for both people have been placed in the urn, depending on the urn chosen, you can display in your home, or bury if you chose a burial urn.

I found a very nice, romantic urn on the web, although pricey, it is a bronze, lost wax technique sculpture of a man and a woman resting on a park bench with her head on his shoulder. Some call it the "Respite Urn" and others call it "Seated Couple" This urn for two is a one chamber urn that holds both loved one's ashes.Another favorite and costs quite a bit less is a wood picture frame urn for two. Not only does it hold the ashes for two people, it holds a favorite photo for everyone to enjoy and remember happy times.

Urns for two are simply vessels that hold the earthly remains of an everlasting love.

Angels have always been a symbol for love, grace, and protection, guiding us through this world. Writing about what angels are and what they mean to each of us individually could go on for an eternity.

There are many, many philosophies about Angels. Every religion has angels in its teachings and lore. They have played a part in all cultures' art for centuries. Why do we find ourselves drawn to images of angels; whether in the form of angel statues, knick knacks, paintings, songs about angels or poems written about angels?  I have my own personal reasons why I feel closeness to Angels, as may you. Whatever the reason, Angels comfort us, especially in times of sorrow or sadness.
We believe angels come to our side to help us, comfort us and in some cases to teach us, if we are willing to learn.

When we have lost a loved one and need comfort so desperately, we turn to Angels to bring us comfort and peace. The very sight of a likeness of an Angel can calms us even during that most difficult time. You can find many different kinds of Angel urns for ashes on the Internet for sale. You can find one that invokes a sense of safety and serenity in you. Some people purchase angel cremation urns to bring them the comforting thought that an angel is watching over their loved one since we can no longer take care of them. Some people believe that their loved ones may take the form of sorts of an angel and will be with them and watch over them throughout life. This is also a beautiful sentiment.

Many of the angel urns for ashes are created to look like small, three dimensional statues or reliefs and can be displayed as artwork in your home while providing and permanent resting place for ashes.

For the Cowboy / Cowgirl in all of Us. It seems like everything and anything you can imagine purchasing for yourself or someone else can be personalized. Some of you may like fishing or boating, motorcycles or gardening. All of these hobbies and interests can be made into an urn for cremation. The ones I will be discussing today are cowboy urns.

The life of a cowboy has been created time and time again on Television and in the movies. We get little glimpses of them rounding up cattle, roping a calf, living the simple life. That's just a part of what today's cowboy is all about. Large facilities are quite sophisticated, while smaller ranches are many times run by families that pass them from generation to generation. In addition to working incredibly long hours, working physically harder than most of us can imagine from sunrise to sunset. They must also know how to make it in the business world. To most living this life, being a cowboy is not just what they do for a living, it is a part of who they are. They take pride in their work, lifestyle and beliefs.

It seems like everything and anything you can imagine purchasing for yourself or someone else can be personalized. Some of you may like fishing or boating, motorcycles or gardening. All of these hobbies and interests can be made into an urn for cremation. The ones I will be discussing today are

It would make sense that there would be an interest in cowboy urns for cremation. Whether a real life Cowboy or someone who loves what the cowboy life represents by wearing cowboy style fashion and motifs, you will be interested to see that your love for the cowboy life can be found in urns for cremation on the web.

Cowboy boot urns are usually made from either a poly resin material that can easily be molded or a wood urn with a cowboy theme carved in the face of it. The poly resin found is shaped like cowboy boots. They can are quite real looking with details painted to look like leather boots. Wood cowboy urns that depict cowboy scenes are simply wood urns that have different cowboy scenes. Some are quite touching depicting a cowboy riding off on a horse to be with their maker.

Cowboy hat urns can be seen on the Internet and are always made from carved wood. They are art handmade from wood that also serve as urns.Prices for cowboy urns like this are not as expensive as you might think considering they are so specific in their design and highly detailed for anyone who loved a cowboy and wants to honor them with a cowboy urn. Prices usually range from two hundred fifty dollars for a traditional wood urn up to fifteen hundred dollars for a hand turned wood carved cowboy hat urn.

Cowboy cremation pendants can also be found on the Internet. These are cowboy themed pendants that hold a tiny amount of ashes in cowboy boot, horse or cowboy hat shapes. They are usually made from silver or gold plate. Prices for these run from approx: eighty to a hundred fifty dollars.

There are no official statistics for how many working cowboys are in America today. The US government doesn't keep track of those statistics. Regardless of how ever many there are there is certainly enough respect for people in that chosen field that the Senate declared "National Day of the American Cowboy" on every 4th Saturday of July, proving that there are few examples of people who represent what being an American is better than the modern day cowboy.

Lamp Urns for Ashes

To see some nice lamp urns for ashes

I was searching online for a unique type of cremation urn for ashes to write about. There are many more than I thought there would be. I assumed I would find mostly wooden boxes or brass vase type urns. What I ran across were some pretty weird, maybe even tacky urns for cremation, but lamp urns for ashes caught my eye for two reasons. They are functional, which is unique for urns and attractive to look at.

While I didn't find a huge selection of lamp urns for ashes, I did find some nice stained glass, Tiffany style and some mission style wood urn lamps. The Tiffany style lamps are may favorite. They are functional and attractive. Lamp urns for ashes normally don't hold all of the ashes for a full grown adult, but are perfect for a smaller person or to be used as a memorial keepsake that holds a portion of the ashes.

When you think about it, it really is a clever idea. Urns are normally kept on a shelf that do nothing and look kind of boring. They tend to point out to everyone in the room; “Hey, isn't that Uncle Henry's Urn on the Bureau?” Not that that is a terrible thing, but it would be nice for the family holding the ashes to have a nice place to hold them without the obvious visual for everyone who enters your home to see.

Most of the lamp urns I found online open at the bottom and the ashes are placed through the bottom and then permanently sealed with screws or an adhesive. If you find yourself interested in this kind of urn but don’t want to put the ashes in yourself (it may be a little unnerving for some), you can always have the funeral director do it for you. You will probably have to purchase the urn online and have it sent directly to the funeral home or to your home and bring it to them.

Cremation is what almost 40% of Americans are choosing now and leave it to good old American ingenuity (and the constant search for new ways to make money) to come up with this really nice idea of a lamp urn for ashes.
